Avignon By Night

When you're cruising with Scenic, they put on these special Scenic Enrich evenings generally with dinner and a show of some sort.  So tonight we were taken up to the Papal Palace and for dinner and classical music.

As we walked through the palace, we were confronted with all this modern art.

It looked completely out of place in a 14th Century palace, but we were told that  it had been part of a recent festival and not there all the time.

This was the dining hall high up in the palace where our dinner was being held.

It was super hot walking to the palace and then up a million stairs.  I told Jenny to look hot in the selfie.......

But she thought I meant look hot as in "quiche"

Me Jenny is so quiche!

And here is our dinner..... lovely!

The view from the top of the palace over the rooftops and towards the hills.

Some more modern art in the courtyard?

The classical musicians and they were excellent.  They played a variety of old and new.

I wonder if this was a piece that the pope chose..... or perhaps more modern art?

This is Stefan, our lovely butler on the cruise.  He was fantastic and not just because he would bring us things..... He called me Princess, which makes the little lady on the right the Queen Mother!

On our walk back to the ship we were treated with the ferris wheel being all lit up.  Très jolie!

Goodnight Avignon!
