Rovinj

Our final stop after a very long day - spanning 3 countries, was Rovinj, which is on the west coast of the Istrian Peninsula.

Cars are not allowed into the centre of the town, so we had to park outside the gated area and a man from our hotel picked us up in this golf buggy.  He weaved in and out of the tiniest little streets, some where people were sitting outside in cafes, etc...  We could have swiped food off their plates, we were that close.

The main street up the hill was lined with restaurants and bars all with glorious views of the water and the sun setting.

This particular cocktail bar charged €20 just for a cushion on a rock..... and they charged 199 kuna (about €30) for a cocktail.

Insane!

There were people happily swimming off the rocks or sitting on tiny pebbled beaches under the cliffs, some completely oblivious to the seated diners watching them.

Gorgeous little scenes around every corner.

And an amazing sunset.

One thing we weren't gutsedly happy with though was the portion size of the ice-cream.....  That's something Italy has got over Croatia!

Back to our quaint little boutique hotel and we found these two guys sitting on the steps belting out a few tunes.  They were great....

So naturally we had another glass of vino and sat and listened.

Whilst I was sitting at the table I looked up and got this view.  We were sitting under somebody's washing!

Now, I can work out a fair few technical things if I put my mind to it.... but there is something about these tardis showers that totally throws me.  I mean, do you need to be massaged with water jets whilst you shower?  And this one came with a radio!  And I'm not sure what that little tap at the bottom was for....
