Island Hopping

Farewell gorgeous island town of Hvar.

Our next stop was Korčula, the birthplace of Marco Polo..... but first we needed to catch 3 car ferries. One was from a town called Ploče - the ugliest coastal town in Croatia!  It is so called because they have built a big ship building yard right in the bay which brought a lot of people back in the day of communism, which meant that accommodations needed to be built and back then, they built buildings that should be reported to the Architectural Police.

Rather than wait around looking at these buildings, we went for a drive.

The sky had clouded over again and the water everywhere was an eery, oily calm.

It might not have been swimming weather, but it made for some pretty pictures.
